New York-based Architectural Systems, Inc. continued to add to its line of "green" products with the introduction of ASI Eco-Porcelain™, an expanded collection to ASI Stone. These tiles are designed for high-trafficked commercial flooring and are made from recycled, 100% natural materials.
The porcelain flooring is available in an extensive palette of neutrals and bright colors, and finishes and textures, including matte, polished and honed. Tiles are available in sizes 6 x 6 to 24 x 24 -- and range in price from $3 - 6 a square foot. The tiles are stain, moisture and odor resistant and offer an ideal option whether achieving a design goal or meeting sustainable requirements.
As an eco-friendly material, low-emitting adhesives and sealants plus manufacturing that follows environmentally responsible processes, make ASI Eco-Porcelain™ an excellent sustainable product choice. All these factors, including its recycled content, can contribute to LEED® points. This can also apply for the Regional Materials credit, if installed within 500 miles of the factory. LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification was implemented by the US Green Building Council to set guidelines for sustainable building practices and offers government tax incentives.
