Q. I have a two story condo with an open floorplan, honey toned hardwood floors, light beige nuetral wall color and espresso stained furniture. Since my living/dining room looks directly into the kitchen, the cabinet color becomes almost like part of the decor. I would like to know if dark cherry cabinets go with espresso stained furniture, or if they have to much red in them?

A. Try getting a door sample and setting it up in the kitchen and living with it for a few days or a week. You can mix woods in a home. White cabinets go well with dark wood and there are some deep stained oaks which are making a comeback.
